Defenders of Common Sense

If you feel that common sense is lacking in the world and you want to make it right, sign up below. We have a wide array of logical, sensical weapons as well as a variety of weapons of responsibility and discretion so go ahead and pick something that suits you!

1. [Falx]: Ready to whomp on some morons with the Logic Stick!
2. [Kyrinn]: Ignorance and stupidity seem to go hand in hand. Ready to do my part to rid this place of them to leave more oxygen for the rest of us. *grin*
3. [cuntstitches]
4. [Panda-monium]
5. [HiddenFire] It's about time the gene pool had somone come in a skim off all the debris and slime. That and shock it well with a good dose of chlorine (common sense in this analogy). ^_^
6. [Avoral] - So many wikis claim to be centered around ridding the "ignorant" and "stupid" from the world, but in reality are naught more than self-righteous cesspools cultivating the very thing they claim to be against. It's nice to see at least ONE wiki (plus mine, of course... FEEL MY EGO!) with its priorities straight. Count me in, [Falx]; I'm all about some superior logic.
7. [Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE] - Heck! so what if I'm a ChilD OF ChaoS. That doesn't mean I can't like common sense. Let's kick some moron ass!
8.[Delladreing] dont forget about the logic stick with spikes on...it helps to persuade others of a less, shall we say "inteligent" mind
9.[nokaredes]
10. [Cactus in a Hat] Ok just listen to this, a family went on holiday for a week, a burglar broke in to their house, but upon escape got trapped in the garage. He lived on dog food and stale water for the week, when the family returned he sued them for unlawful imprisonment! (And won! $300,000!!!! Whats the world coming to!)
11. [stuffAEAmade] Ignorancy and stupidity are gaining way to much momentum in this day and age...
12.[Archeress of Mirkwood] Somethings I guess just aren't supposed to make sence...? (The McD's thing. par say?)
13. [Kelaria] I knew common sense well *sniff, sniff* I just wish that it hadn't died so soon!!! *sobs*
14. [Tapestry of Destiny]
15. [Pyra] Ahh, thankgoodness. A wiki for common sense. People seem to be out of touch with it nowadays.
16. [Blackshire] what are we without common sense?
17. [itoe] Einstein was right: "There are two constants: the universe and human stupidity. And I'm not sure about the first one." - Ignorance is not the crime. Stubborn defense of ignorance as truth is. I was once likened to a ferret for my tenacity against the stubbornly ignorant. I shall be the Ferret of Truth! (...or maybe not...)
18.[Azuri] Its a shame common sense isn't common these days.
19. [Sidhe Todd] Sense, of the common variety, is a good thing. Promise.
20. [Lost in Illusions] I received a badge for my display of logic and persistence in fake goths, therefore it's only logical that I join this wiki, neh?
21. [T_Pop]"I lost all faith in the intelligence of mankind the day I heard that someone actually fallows the quote 'I do what my rice crispies tell me to do'"
22.[sequeena_rae] I'm all up for randomness (being a randomer myself) but there's random and then there's plain daft.
23.[POG] Is sensible most of the time. Apart from when intoxicated. Which is never.
24.[Estantia] Why didn't I find this wiki before?! I'm glad to see common sense hadn't died completely...
25 [Fireblade K'Chona] Good lord, sometimes I just want to smack people who go on and on about stuff they know nothing about. >.<
26. [merihevonen]
27. [Dark Side of the Moon] Lack of common sense can kill you. Yet some people lack the sense to even realize this.
28. [moonscale]I have common sense, I also have insanity. Becasue I have common sense my insanity hasn't killed me (yet)
29. [Inehmo]
30. [Verbam] Common sense! It livessss! Merciful honey cows!

Ferret of Truth

Here shall be recognized those people who have persisted in the enlightenment of the stubbornly ignorant, either by deed or word.

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: The burglar sued them!?!

[nokaredes]: I heard, a burglar was on someone's roof, and he fell through a skylight onto a set of knives, and sued the owners of that house (and won)!

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: WHAT's with the world today?!?!?!?!!?

[nokaredes]: stupid people with too much power, that's what.

[nokaredes]: why is there a forumpost on the members list, btw?

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: A forumpost? Huh? Which one?

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: I dunno. Probably forgot to add "@". ::shrugs:: Silly, eh?

[nokaredes]: #10

[nokaredes]: yup.

[nokaredes]: fixed.

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: Hm... I understood, that a man seued a US Cigarette industry because he didn't know cigarettes could kill him. And he smoked. And he fucking WON!!!!!!?!!!!

[nokaredes]: they sell a dangerous product that kills their customers early. They deserve to get sued.

[nokaredes]: but that's a stupid reason.

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: ::lights a cigarette:: Yep, it is.

[Cactus in a Hat]: wow your right, i forgot to bookmark this page too, Yeh he sued them! How ridculus is it?

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: Almost as ridiculous as the whole M'cDonald's-Hot_Tea incident. That still holds one of the main positions in my list.

[nokaredes]: Oh, God...don't get me started.

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: Please start.

[nokaredes]: well, sometimes at places like Wendy's or Quizno's or somewhere, they give me a soda that says 'Caution: Hot' when it's full of ice!!

[nokaredes]: and you'd know if it was hot or not, even without that stupid label...

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! Did you enter that in the lables section?!? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHA!!!! "What fools these mortals be!"

[nokaredes]: no...

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: Well... Do it.

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: ::reads last entry:: ::allows a tear to roll down his face::

[nokaredes]: *pokes common sense with a stick*

[Delladreing]: Oo....is it awake yet?

[nokaredes]: I dunno *pokes it again*

[Delladreing]: *starts bangng pots and pans together*

[nokaredes]: *brings in a marching band*

[Falx]: *sets off M-80's by COmmon Sense's head*

[Delladreing]: .....anything?

[Falx]: *sigh* No.... :(

[Delladreing]: ......gets those things from ER...electric shock paddels* CLEAR!!

[Falx]: *Well, this works in every anime where someone is dying so, hell, it's worth a try* *SHakes Common Sense SNAP OUT OF IT!

[Delladreing]: lmao

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: Hm... you idiots jut tried to kill her!!! Enough sillyness!!!! ::shouting and hugging COMMON SENSE::

[nokaredes]: deleted some spyware, in case anyone's wondering...*pats common sense on the back*

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: ^_^ I did that too a week ago. My PC was almost wrecked.

[nokaredes]: I meant I deleted it off the wiki...it's just code in the text, so it can't get to my computer. Only if it's in an image.

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: Oh... Who'd do such a thing?

[nokaredes]: Someone probably did it by accident...oh wait, do you mean who'd put it in an image? Someone who didn't like it if you saved it. O.o

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: No, I mean... Who'd put it in a wiki?

[nokaredes]: ...probably an accident.

[Falx]: Ok, guys... voting time. Which color do you think should be used for the Defenders' Badge? <poll:58120> Go! Vote! I mean it!

[Falx]: Ooo! Hey! New member! Welcome!

[T_Pop]: i have a small question... um... can i join this wiki and be one of the dumbasses unite members as well???

[Lost in Illusions]: hey.. I follow that saying.. the rice crispies have given me some good advice >.>;

[T_Pop]: lol... ok if you say so lmao

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: What the fuck are you guys talking about? Aren't rice crispies food...? And who in their right mind would use rice crispies for advice?        Oh and... I don't think being a dumbass means you lack common sence.

[Lost in Illusions]: er.. it was a joke... and of course being a self-proclaimed dumbass doesnt mean she lacks common sense

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: BTW... Cool nickname... But... Why periods? Why not something else? Cyrilic makes things even cooler. Йеп! Ит дъз! Ит дъз!

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: <<translation: Yep! It does! it does!>>

[Lost in Illusions]: *does not know cyrilic* I made this nick trying to infiltrate the subgroup of 'emo' so that I can "fit in" and uncover their secrets. hehe.

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: Bwa... you could have always used something simpler... Like... [Sad Angel 13] or sth...

[T_Pop]: lol well a friend of mine listens to rice crispys often... thats why i say that lmao

[Lost in Illusions]: sad angel and demons and all that shit is considered "goth" "emo" is cool stuff, like alternative patterns (polkadots/checkered) and tight clothing and mopey attitudes. At least, that seems to be the concensus of the fad.

[Falx]: Oh, and I agree. If you are aware that you are a dumbass, then you obviously have enough sense to recognize it! ^_^

[Lost in Illusions]: You know what I've realized is that McDonald's is the epitome of Southern idiocy. If you ever come down to Hartsville, SC (My hometown) and you wish yourself some entertainment, come to the local McDonalds and simply request something unorthodox from one of the registers. It's quite fun.

[nokaredes]: What counts as 'unorthodox'?

[Lost in Illusions]: anything from asking for a sandwich with no lettuce to a cheeseburger without cheese. *shrugs* It's just stupid the way they never know what they are doing.

[nokaredes]: Ah. Well...I should try that here. Maybe it works.

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: I should try it too... Hm... A BiG MAC with no piccles... Apart from the idea being appalling- I love BIG MAC's, it might be fun...

[Falx]: Oh, that sounds like our Burger King. My brother once asked for a plain double cheeseburger (you know, no condiments) and they gave him a cheeseburger with no cheese. It's sad when you have to order, "I'd like a double cheeseburger plain. WITH CHEESE."

[T_Pop]: lmao well next time ask "wheres the cheese"... cheeseburgers are named that way BECOUSE thay have cheese on them rofl

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: Hm... Odd... The only probs anyone has told me about here, are... Smaller drinks... you order an extra LARGE drink... And they give you the smallest type...

[T_Pop]: drinks for elves... or maybe Gnomes lol

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: I dunno. But they charge it as a BIG one. Or you order a tonic and they give you cola. This happens ALL THE FRIGGIN TIME!

[T_Pop]: well... I'm glad i have no afileations with those arias lol

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: ...? What Arians?

[Fireblade K'Chona]: Arias? Like, opera songs? -just joined and is confused-

[Estantia]: I think it was a typo of areas...

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: Well... It got changed... So... WHAT AGAINST OPERA?

[Estantia]: Nada, my friend sings it well.

[Fireblade K'Chona]: I don't have anything against opera. Except annoyingly screechy divas. Or if someone's off-key.

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: If someone's off-key.

[Estantia]: do you think wobble or no-wobble?

[Fireblade K'Chona]: There's a difference between vibrato and wobble, and I say no wobble.

[Estantia]: vibrato or non-vibrato then....

[Lost in Illusions]: vibrato is a beautiful skill, but it has to be done right. And yes, uneven wobble by mistake is no vibrato. No vibrato if the guy/girl cant do it right.

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: Vibrato- yes. Especially well-done.

[T_Pop]: *crys* I cant spell lol

[Fireblade K'Chona]: Philip Quast (Javert in Les Miserables musical; considered by many to be the best Javert in the English language) has a really good vibrato.

[Estantia]: I have to say I don't lke vibrato as much, I may not have heard it properly done but mostly it annoys me...

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: ::shrugs:: Pavarotty anyone?

[Estantia]: not for me thanks.

[Falx]: No thanks. I gave up Pavorati for lent. ;D

[Estantia]: I don't give up anything for lent... unless you count working hard...

[Lost in Illusions]: Buddhism doesnt follow lent... of course, they're far more minimalistic than most western religions in the first place.

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: What's Buddhism got to do with Pavarotti?

[Lost in Illusions]: it doesnt. Someone mentinoed giving up Pavarotti for Lent, and I was saying that Buddhism doesnt follow that belief, since Buddhism is my current religion.

[Estantia]: 'current' religion?

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: Don't taunt the kid... You can choose what to believe in any time you want.

[Estantia]: I wasn't taunting, I was trying to lead onto a discussion of why we choose certain religions...

[Lost in Illusions]: I chose it because it's not a religion.. I've been meditating for years and believe in everything that Zen Buddhism teaches; in fact, I've been writing and preaching the same principles way before I even considered Buddhism.

[Estantia]: what are the principles then? is that the one where you effectively make your own?

[Lost in Illusions]: not really, they do have principles and lessons, but they're more like guidelines for how to live your life.

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: Zen buddhism is he oddest buddhism actually... But I know what Melancholy means... I recently(last year) found out that I'm a Chaotican/Chaoist. Because I found out I had been following and preaching the main ideas of ChaoS-MagiC. But that still doesn't explain why we have to discuss religion, now does it?

[Estantia]: of course it doesn't, but it is an interesting subject (I was thinking of daist earlier)

[Lost in Illusions]: O_o I was just saying that I dont practice lent, and as a result, will be giving up nothing.

[Estantia]: yup, i don;t because I'm lazy...

[Lost in Illusions]: I have a funny anecdote about religion.. I went to this one site (beliefnet.com) and took the survey. it was for extra credit in my Religion class, but never mind about that; the top three religions that it paired me up with were "Utilitarianism, Theravada Buddhism, and Quaker" The first two I could almost see, but how the hell they matched me up with a conservative Christian group like the Quakers, I'll never know.

[Lost in Illusions]: well, I found it funny...

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: It seems to be funny...

[merihevonen]: it's hilarious. X)

[Fireblade K'Chona]: what is this website, and how can I get a cool teacher that uses it for extra credit?

[Lost in Illusions]: www.beliefnet.com ... it was for Religion 103.. the extra credit was to take the religion quiz which tells you what religions most match your beliefs, and to tell the instructor and discuss whether you agree with it.

[Lost in Illusions]: http://www.beliefnet.com/story/76/story_7665_1.html there's the link to the "belief-o-matic" quiz thing, if anyone wants to take it.

[Lost in Illusions]: hey, my results were different this time.. more accurate, even though New-age Protestantism is still in 91%... that, I still dont get.

[Falx]: I took that I somehow don't think that hitting 100% with the Quakers was accurate.

[Lost in Illusions]: I was like 96% quaker the first time I took it... I got a much better match this time.. both forms of Buddhism, Universalism, neo-paganism, new-age atheism were my top five.

[Estantia]: I did it some while ago, got utilitarianism, in other words a bit of everything, though I prefer the idea of creative/artistic or balance

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: I'm a 100% Universal Unitarian, a 98% Neo-Pagan and a 93% Mainline To Liberal Christian Protestant. Odd... No satanism this time...

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: ::reads:: DAMMIT! I AM a Unitarian... Hm... Cool! ^_^

[Lost in Illusions]: is satanism even an option? O_o I dont think it is, but it is a recognized religion, so I guess it could be.. Universalism seems to be a typical option for the pagans/buddhists/etc.. wonder if it's worth studying?

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: ::shrugs:: I don't know. I'm a ChaoS-MagE, not a Pagan or Buddhist. But I think it is. EVERY religion is worth at least a good look. I mean... Even something quickly whipped up might have an original concept or something.

[Fireblade K'Chona]: Hm, Buddhism scored pretty high, but oddly enough, Orthodox Judaism was above most of Christianity. WTF? O.o

[Lost in Illusions]: we will never know how they do that sort of quiz thing. Apparently they think that a strict conservative religion is close enough to a polytheistic and inclusive (liberal) religion? Heh/

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: ::shrugs:: Sounds odd to me... Strict religions are usually monotheistic.

[Lost in Illusions]: Now, here's the clincher... who here got 100% or close to that (let's say the first 5 choices) on your actual religion? I did.. #1 - 100% on Theravada Buddhism and #2 - 98% on Mahayana Buddhism.. oh, and somewhere around #3 or 4 - 94%-96% pagan (all in the top 5)

[Lost in Illusions]: and [Estantia], utilitarianism is a philosophy based upon bringing about the greatest good in the world, not a religion.. you might be thinking of Unitarian? I dunno why I didnt catch that earlier and forgive me for being a stickler for that sorta thing, but I am a philosophy&religion major.

[Estantia]: yes, I did know the difference, honest >.< I just couldn't actually remember the name of the religion, my bad.

[Lost in Illusions]: heh, I probably would have made the same mistake.. no worries.. I'm just a snob about that sorta thing.

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: Hm... I don't actually have a religion I stick to... But it seems that Unitarialism is close enough to my beliefs, so... Yes. 100% that were correct...

[Lost in Illusions]: I dunno, though.. considering I'm a Buddhist witch (by my design) and only Buddhism got 100%

[Falx]: Yeah, well, I'm Catholic and only scored... 63% there. *cries* I'm a bad Catholic! I'm going to Hell! ^_^

[Estantia]: I just believe whatever the hell I believe, something vaguely fateish.

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: Heh! Nicely said, Estantia!

[Estantia]: ...and I only just notced the pun >.< oops... ah well, mine doesn't have a name, though it has a classification at a guess

[moonscale]: Did you take a quiz or something?

[Estantia]: there is one, I can't remember it though

[Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: What quiz?
::is confused::

[Lost in Illusions]: www.beliefnet.com "belief-o-matic"

[moonscale]: I found it by google search ;) Its a bit odd though. My lowest was Roman Catholic I think, which is a musing since that is what I was babtised. I only found out I had been when I turned 14, the age where one may legally choose, so I stepped out of the church.

[Lost in Illusions]: really? Most churches dont even care what you do with them, as long as you send money. Lots and lots of money. Oh, and brainwash others to believe the same that they do.

Catholicism is a bit different, I suppose, but I didnt' even know there was an "age of choosing" *shrug*

[Delladreing]: I thought it was only the baptist church that did that? Hmm oh well.

[Estantia]: nope, baptist is (another) subsect of christianity

[Delladreing]: I am aware of that :)

But I was under the impression that it was only them that did confirmation of beliefs, then again its been a good few years since I read over any core materials on the matter.

[Estantia]: nope, most of them do, that's confirmation or something i think...

[Delladreing]: I just said that :P
And my own family church didn't have anything like it, why I am asking.

[moonscale]: The age of choosing thing is the law. In both Germany and America which are the only places that matter for me, legaly.

[Falx]: Well, I know that other churches have what's called an initiation ceremony. It's kind of like a cross between confirmation and baptism. At my dad's church they take everybody to be initiated up to Deep Creek Lake and submerge them in the water.

[Lost in Illusions]: After spending the afternoon with one of my good friends, Adam, Quaker sounds like a great religion.. I'm not switching anywhere anytime soon, but it's so not what I thought. It's all about your personal relationship with the higher power, it has nothing to do with what the Christians talk about with Preachpreachpreach *turns around* hypocrite!

[Estantia]: I know, I had the funeral yesterday and the things he was saying were severely over the top and I couldn't help myself but comment. As a result it was hard not to laugh before getting into a metaphysical debate with myself...

Is it right to say the Lord's prayer if you don't believe? it is polite, and it is only words, but that only makes it not wrong, is it right?

[moonscale]: I think it depends really. Its a bit like the pledge of aliegance, should you say it if you don't mean it? Personally I think its foolish to do so but at the same time foolish to fight over something so trivial. Sometimes its a perfectly good thing to say for example a prayer if its for someone else. At a funeral its polite and in my case the sentiment would be just a bit different. I am not religious and I don't pray but if someone important to me asaked me to pray for them I would gladly do it. To them I would be talking to god on their behalf, for me I would be wishing them well and trying to make them happy. Most things are just what you make of them.

[Estantia]: *nods* That's what I've ended up doing. there is a presence there certainly, but I end up treating it more as a friend than something to worship. So I'm respectful but only normal respect.
